How to plan your

            lighting design

The key to any successful lighting design is to lay down
different types of light in layers.
A good place to start is the background or ambient lighting.
If the room has a clear function (such as a bedroom or ambient lighting
bathroom) choose a brightness and colour temperature
that best suits it. If the room has many functions, you might
want to think about the use of smart lighting or secondary
lighting to replace the ambient light when it is turned off.

Next, consider the specific activities that happen in the

room. Remember, a room with a relaxed ambient light may task lighting
still require areas of strong, purposeful light. Examples of
this are reading lights in the bedroom or shaving lights in
the bathroom. This is often referred to as task lighting.
                                                                 accent lighting
Now, look at introducing your accent lighting. Use this
light to illuminate decorative detail, colours, textures or
            architectural features.

Lastly, if appropriate, add your pendant lighting. These pendant lighting
pieces, typically, are beautiful objects in their own right.
They may be used as ambient, task or accent lighting.
By blending all of these different layers of light together
you will create a space that is lit practically, appropriately
            and beautifully.
